Welcome Barkley to CCPAL foster program. Barkley is a 10 month old Flat Coated Retriever/Newfoundland dog is our best guess. He is beautiful and while he looks big and heavy he weighs about 40 pounds. He has a fluffy coat that makes him look bigger than he is. He was found as a stray and his owner could not be located. He has a thick coat and he likes water in his foster home. He jumped back when he saw a kitten and is fine with the cats in this home. He is good with other dogs and is around teen children. He is a little shy at first but very affectionate once he knows and trusts you. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is moderately active and would be instantly great in a more quiet home that wants a loyal and loveable dog. He does jump up into the car and is a good car rider. He is good in a crate and potty trained. He is an adorable dog and we think 55 pounds full grown is what we believe. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. We can also use one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington,Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. We are in Pipe Creek, Texas on an acreage. We will be using a transporter to deliver the dogs to New Jersey once they are adopted. We can let you speak to our Kennel Manager, Troy, who works with the dogs everyday. We also will provide the most current pictures and videos to help in your decision. Only the very best dogs will be transported.

C.C.P.A.L. seeks to reduce the enormous problem of pet overpopulation in Bandera County We promote low-cost spay/neuter programs; advise on basic health care & proper shelter for pets & offer excellent dog obedience classes several times each year. Since 2002, CCPAL has rescued nearly 5,000 animals. We are in constant need of foster homes for these pets until we find them homes. Our pets are in kennels on an acreage in Texas. We can use a transporter to get them outside of Texas if we find a great home.
