My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If I look scared it's because I am! The shelter is a noisy place and I don't understand why I'm here. I'm wondering where my owners are? When Miss Judi first got me out I had my tail tucked. I didn't know what to think, but then she kept praising me and telling me I was a good boy. I liked that! I respond well to praise, especially if a treat is thrown in here and there. I like treats, and I sit for them. I even take them gently. I even gave Miss Judi a couple of tail wags. If you adopt me and take time with me so I can build trust, I will adore you! Oh, I forgot to tell you, I'm a one year-old 47 pound black and white American pit bull terrier that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 9/25 as a stray. I love belly rubs! I am gentle, affectionate, loyal, laid-back, and somewhat submissive. Because of that, I would do best with a laid-back family and better with older children. I also want to be an inside dog so I can spend more time with my new loving family!
