My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Uptight? A tad serious and set in your perfectly responsible ways? You probably could use a mentor with a firm grasp of happy-go-lucky. That mentor is Trick Dog. A big ole brindle bulldog with puppy pink accents, this guy doesn't sweat the small stuff or the big stuff. Instead, with many velvet wrinkles and a smile that consumes his entire face, he aims to please. He's got moves - sit, lie down, and shake - that enhance his friendship game; his sweet sloppy affection is good for the soul and hilarious Insta reels. He digs a short walk, is not a fan of stairs, and is ready to embark on a weight loss journey that is very unlikely to make him crabby. Come meet your new guide to carefree living!

Here's some notes from his foster:

Trick Dog is a lovely big boy with a heart of gold. He's easygoing, friendly, and has an overall calm demeanor. He loves rubs and kisses and will return the favor with big sloppy kisses to everyone he meets. While he loves everyone, he lights up with men, seeming to have a deep affection for male humans!

During the day, he spends most of the time resting on his bed or in his crate (he's crate-trained!) while I work. We take short walks around the block for potty time or just roam around the backyard. He loves to be in the sun and lounging in the grass. He appears to be 100% potty trained, with no accidents in the house.

He has some mobility limitations that require his person to help him rise from a sitting position with a sling around his belly. He is a big boy, so it requires a bit of strength. A home that has lots of rugs and carpets will help him rise with less assistance. He can get up by himself, but it takes a few tries, so the sling really helps stabilize his backend. Once he's up, he can walk swiftly with no problems.

The only time I've heard him bark is one short bark at the front door after my neighbor (a man, his favorite friend) left. He sat by the door for a few minutes, hoping for him to return. Besides that, this guy is unphased by knocks, loud music, etc. He hears them but just doesn't really care.

Few little fun facts about Trick Dog:

He uses his paws to communicate more rubs, more kisses!
He is a great eater and doesn't appear to have any guarding behavior.
He will whine to let you know he wants something. (Not excessive).
He loves shoes!
He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate with the door open and his head hanging out on his bed. :)
He will get into things if you leave him alone when you leave. (I crate him when I go out.)
He loves toys!
He rides in the car perfectly. Lays down and just hangs out!

Overall, Trick Dog will be well suited for a variety of homes. He loves people, so a couple, family, or active solo person would make him a very happy big boy!
