t is anyone's guess what lurks in the DNA of this lanky, black dog. With his long nose and muscular haunches, Toby gives off the whiff of a greyhound and the iPhone concurs by identifying him as a whippet mix. BUT, he would very well be a lab-terrier mix, Sweet as sugar with people, the tale (tail) is that Toby was a companion to a homeless man who passed away making Toby a “stray”. Having been in a couple of short-term boarding situations, he was with one foster for 10 days and nary had an "accident" in the house, so the expectation is he is generally housebroken.
Comfortable around some dogs, Toby is a wind-up playmate that will no doubt be a great addition for some family. Estimated to be between one and two years old and around 38 lbs., Toby’s photos do not capture his warm spirit nor his boundless energy. Toby is a jumping bean of the highest order, so don't lean over him ... you might get a dog-noggin in the chin. Black dogs are always hard to photograph well, but you sure don’t have to worry about seeing their fur on your black pants!
