Miss Lily - the product of a backyard breeder -- has come from an overcrowded WV shelter where she had been surrendered. Lily is a senior bulldog estimated to be around 8 years old, who is still active and sweet-natured.
Said to be good with other dogs and kitties, she enjoys treats from offering hands. Although Lily is deaf, she clearly knows how to track faces and follow hand movements for direction with her hypnotic ice-blue eyes. With some raw patches on her legs and a known thyroid issue that is treatable, Lily is getting the care she needs.
Deaf dogs can be trained using hand signals and gestures. A number of them have been adopted and they are not typically frightened by fireworks and thunder ... a common fear-trigger for so many dogs.
