For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
This helps Kingston Humane Society with pet care costs.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name, age, breed: Willow, 11 months, German Shepard
Likes: Walks, outdoor time, people, learning new tricks
Dislikes: Strangers running up to her
What would be the ideal home? A home with an owner who has experience or knowledge about her breed. Willow is higher energy and would love space to run around. She is eager to please, therefore she would love to continue her training.
Good with other cats? No small critters due to prey drive
Good with dogs? May be possible with the proper introduction with a dog of same size and activity level.
Good with children? No toddlers as she is jumpy/mouthy
Temperament: Playful, and very treat motivated.
Motivators? Treats
Any commands? Sit, paw, down
House trained? No, Willow is still working on house training but it is difficult in the shelter environment. She would benefit from a strict house training routine.
Crate trained? Unknown
How long will it take to settle into a new environment? 2-3 weeks
Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Willow would benefit from training/socialization as she can be mouthy and weary of strangers. If you are introducing her to someone, always give the individual some treats to make it a positive introduction. She gets comfortable very quickly.
