Lucille (more affectionately known as Lucy, Lucy Lou, or Lou Lou) is a shy girl who we originally got in from a large-scale hoarding case where there were more than 100 dogs on the property. Because of the situation that she came from, Lucy is very overwhelmed with new people and new situations.
Lucy was adopted early on after first coming to our shelter, but was recently returned to us. The adopter reported that she did well in the home living with another small dog and loved laps!
Even though this petite girl is very scared here, she is slowly warming up and showing us her true colors- and she still loves laps!
Lucy would love to get out of the shelter and into a home where she feels safe.

Adoptions are completed on a first come, first served basis. Please note there may be a wait to meet with a pet, dependent on advisor availability.

Please allow plenty of time to meet your perfect pet. Once you have selected a pet, the adoption process will take at least 30 minutes. We do not begin the adoption process after 5:30 pm.

Animal Humane New Mexico performs a background check on all adopters & does not adopt to anyone who has committed a violent crime. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption for any reason.

Please note, visitors must wear their mask indoors at all Animal Humane locations.
