My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $275, plus taxes
Location: Foster Home

Abu is ALL kitten. Such a sweet, super soft, and playful little guy with a big personality, he has been deemed aggressively adorable. He would benefit from having lots of room to run and a good scratching post. When he's done scampering everywhere, he loves to snuggle up, and should you stopped petting him too soon, he'll use both his little paws to tug on your hand. It's seriously the cutest.

He comes from a large litter, so he is good with other cats except he seems to struggle with sharing. Sparkly pom poms and stuffed toy mice are his favorite and he will carry them away and hide them from others. Be prepared to find groupings of these stashed in the corner of the sofa, under the comforter on a bed, or behind a chair. Despite his high energy, he is so very gentle when it comes to his humans and should do really well with children. He has not yet been exposed to dogs.

Abu is about three months old, he is neutered, microchipped, and up to date with his vaccinations.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
