My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet older gent seeking happily ever after!

BUD NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Bud         Best Guess for Breed: Lab and retriever mix

Best Guess for Age:  8 years as of September 2024      SEX:   Male

Approximate Weight:  60 lbs

Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested

Currently Living at:   Shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to escape!

Bud is Looking For: His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this sweet older gent landed in the shelter. He's oh so eager to once again have his own humans for long sniffy walks and world exploration. At an estimated age of 8, he's way out of the puppy yips and full of that experienced-dog wisdom - he knows there's nothing like being safe and loved and under his own roof.

He has so many adoring gazes, so many happy tail wags - and so much loyal companionship to offer. What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side?

What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
