My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Quinn and I am a 6-8 year old 85 pound Shepherd/Mastiff mix looking for my forever home! My previous owner has a few things he’d like to share with you before you decide if I’m a good fit in your home! An ideal living situation for me would look like this….

A big fenced in yard for me to run around & chase squirrels (I jump very high so I need a tall fence to keep me safe). I love to protect the yard & keep all the small critters out of our space. I don’t get along with small animals or cats & I get along with 9/10 dogs. Ideally I’d like to live alone with no other dogs or children so I can take up all your attention. I do get along with almost every dog but I’m a loner by nature & would prefer to solely get all of your attention & love. I haven’t been around many children so I don’t know how I’d react if one pulled on my tail & face but so far I’ve been great around them! I'm very much a pushover & I’ll show you belly right away but I had to survive on my own for 3 months in WY before my old owner found me, so I still have that prey drive in my little head that kept me alive.

My previous owner has spent the last 2 years traveling the country with me. I’ve seen over 25 states out west & lived a nomadic lifestyle so running freely is very important to me. He essentially never had to put me on a lease because I have amazing recall & listen very well if I’m given the time each day to run freely. I do need to be leased in high traffic areas because I get excited & want to say hi to all potential friends.

My routine has been infrequent so bed time & walk time could be at any time through the day but it is very Important for me to stretch my not-so-little legs. I never have peed or pooped inside as long as I can go outside 30 minutes after I eat. A few times I’ve been alone for 8 hours & I never got mad & chewed things inside our home.

I was unfortunately hit by a car about a year ago & had to undergo an entire femur reconstruction but if I didn’t share this, you’d have no idea! He carried me around for 3 months & fully nursed me back to health. Because I had to survive on my own two of my teeth got chipped but since he rescued me, I have been getting joint & coat oil that greatly strengthened my teeth & fur. He also was a backcountry guide so he taught me how to run next to ATV's & snowmobiles and when I need a break I’ll even ride on the back of them if you ride slow & help hold me on. I love playing & swimming in the water & getting lots of water chomps.

I know lots of commands!
COME-come back
HERE- walk next to me
OKAY-I can run free!!
SIT-sit
STAY-stay
SHAKE- shake
OTHER PAW- other paw
