Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Lucy, your future snuggle buddy and professional couch potato! This sweet senior gal may be working through a few medical speed bumps, but she's still got a heart full of love (and plenty of tail wags) to give. Lucy's currently treating a skin infection and is on meds for dry eyes-so yes, she's officially a diva with her own skincare and eye regimen. She's also fighting off Ehrlichia and Anaplasma, two fancy-sounding tick-borne illnesses that she's ready to kick to the curb by October. Add in a little dental work, and Lucy's basically the poster pup for self-care. Despite her medical to-do list, Lucy is a gentle, friendly soul who just wants a quiet home where she can be pampered like the queen she is. Bonus points if there are no young kiddos to disturb her beauty naps! Adopt Lucy and give her the retirement of her dreams-because this golden girl deserves nothing less. Don't forget to bring a leash and collar for a safe journey home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
