My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Block, the 3-year-old, 14-pound bundle of joy! This mixed-breed mutt is full of energy, happiness, and endless love for everyone he meets. Block is a superstar with kids, making him the perfect family dog. He’s always up for a game of fetch or a walk around the neighborhood, and his playful, energetic nature will keep you smiling.

Block gets along great with other dogs and is house trained, making him an easy addition to any home. He’s also a total champ at the vet, well-behaved and calm. The only thing special about Block is his food intolerances, so he does best with homemade meals tailored to his needs. But don’t worry! This little guy will reward you with tons of love, snuggles, and endless loyalty. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion, Block is your boy!

We have a whole packet on his varying intolerances, but here’s the things he CAN have (if it’s not on this list, you can assume he can’t have any form of it):

Fat: Coconut oil

Fruit: Watermelon

Grains: Oats, quinoa

Protein: Beef (including heart, liver, kidney, not NO broth), chicken (NO by product or organs), egg whites, lamb, veal

Fish: catfish, halibut, herring, salmon

Veggies: black beans, lentils, sweet potato, pumpkin, butternut squash
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.September 26, 2024, 9:29 pm

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
