Meet Colt, a lively and affectionate dog who's ready to find his forever home! This spirited boy was rescued as a stray in Climax Springs, so we don't know much about his past. However, his enthusiasm for life is contagious!
Colt is a high-energy pup who absolutely loves to run and play. He thrives in our play yard, where he can let loose and enjoy his favorite toys. His playful nature makes him a joy to be around, and he gets along great with other dogs, making him a perfect companion for a multi-pet household.
While Colt is full of love and energy, he's still working on his manners. He may need some guidance and training, but he's eager to learn and impress! With patience and consistency, Colt will blossom into a well-mannered companion. He's already making strides with his leash skills-though he's a bit of a puller now, our dedicated staff is helping him improve each day.
Colt also loves affection and enjoys snuggling up with people. His sweet disposition and playful antics will surely bring joy to your home. If you're looking for a furry friend to share adventures with, Colt is the perfect match!
Come meet Colt and see if you can be the one to give him the loving home he deserves! Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 27 Age: 1yrs 0mths 3wks

More about this shelter
Dogwood Animal Shelter is a non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Since its infancy, compassionate, like-minded volunteers have been the driving force behind Dogwood Animal Shelter. Through auctions and sales, a handful of dedicated people raised enough money to build its first, albeit small facility and was established as a 501(c) 3 in 1976. It was filled beyond capacity almost immediately.
The shelter is funded entirely from donations and proceeds from their Dogwood Animal Shelter Thrift Store.
After years of saving, planning and busting at the seams with fur-babies, in 2005 it was time to build a new facility with their own in-house clinic! Under the direction of Dr. John Reinhold and coupled with a very dedicated and gifted team of Veterinarians and staff, Dogwood Animal Shelter continues to offer low cost spays and neuters to the public as well as services to their shelter buddies; services to approximately 2,000 dogs and cats yearly!
Dogwood Animal Shelter began their journey of being a successful no-kill shelter in 1997, and since then has saved over 40,000 lives!
