My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I scream, you scream, we all scream for the ice creams! In the case of Butter Pecan, we are probably screaming because he is unexpectedly attacking our shoes. This little guy looks like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, but don’t be fooled! Butter Pecan is an expert escape artist as well as an amateur shoe-tester and journeyman shoulder climber! Like his siblings, Butter Pecan loves toys and cuddles, and will hopefully grow out of some of his naughty kitten behaviors. Butter Pecan and his sisters Moose Tracks and Cookie Dough  were born May of 2024. If he is not neutered by the time he is adopted, he will be on a spay/neuter contract. He is microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****

Go meet their pets

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
