Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wilma is a beautiful merle pitbull with stunning blue and green eyes. Wilma and her puppy, Pebbles, were found as strays. Since joining our rescue, she has been learning how to be a good house dog and loving all of the affection that comes with it!
Wilma is curious and playful with other dogs. While she loves to wrestle, she is successfully able to read their cues to slow down or back off. She is capable of calm coexistence with other dogs.
While Wilma has not met any children, she has been neutral to the ones playing at the playground that we walk by. While she is gentle, she can be exuberant and is still a puppy herself at one year of age, so she is still learning proper manners and may need continued training to live with smaller children.
Wilma has a medium energy level and would thrive with an active family who loves to take her for walks, runs, or hikes, and loves to play with her. She enjoys running and playing fetch, and is learning to enjoy tug.
Wilma is a dream to walk around the neighborhood. She is neutral to other people and dogs and walks nicely on her leash. While she would much prefer to chase the squirrels, she restrains herself. She is so much fun to play fetch with! She is incredibly affectionate and would like to cuddle as close to you as possible, laying on top of you while helping with your skincare routine via kisses. She has done well with the few dogs she has been tested with.
Three words to describe Wilma? Exuberant, affectionate, and playful!

More about this rescue
Players for Pits is a 501c3, non profit rescue that connects professional athletes to the community in order to come together to take a stand against the abuse and neglect of animals. PFP serves the western suburbs of Chicago and is a foster based rescue, so the dogs in our care are in foster homes learning the basics of being a well balanced dog versus being in cages at loud boarding facilities.
The athletes involved in our rescue actively support the rescue efforts and help by spreading the word of dogs in need. It is the mission of Players for Pits to educate dog owners about proper pet care - both physical and mental - so that the dogs in our care can be happy, well balanced members of society. It is our goal to rescue dogs from high kill shelters and place them into loving homes in the suburbs. At Players for Pits we stand up for pit bulls, who's character is routinely tarnished and often misrepresented. We recognize the pit bull for what it is: a DOG. And any dog with the right care and owners can be a wonderful pet. While we are an advocate for pit bulls, we do not discriminate based on breed and will take in other breeds if they need you help. Players for Pits is also very active in the community and we co-host clinics to help struggling families maintain their pets health, we train pit bull type dogs to become therapy dogs for children with abusive backgrounds, and we try to involve the community in our goal to reduce pet abandonment.
