Hi, my name is Gemma. I’m a pretty 1-1/2-year-old Cattle dog/Terrier mix weighing 47 lbs and I was found hiding in an empty lot alongside a busy highway in Elmendorf Texas. A very nice lady used to drop off food for me, morning and evening fearing I would try to cross the highway and one day she came with a trap. Two days later I decided to go in and now I’m glad I did because that nice lady is now my foster mom. Since then I have been vaccinated, spayed, chipped, bathed, and loved and I am having fun playing with all the other foster dogs while getting ready to find a forever home.
I am a sweet girl, shy at first, but once I know you I’m very friendly. I have lots of playful energy, I love to play fetch and run through the yard and I love attention. I am the pack leader when I play with my doggy friends, and prefer easygoing playmates. We have kitty cats that live here and I was curious at first, but just gave them a sniff and walked away. I am very affectionate and love to be petted and hugged. I follow my foster mom around the house and when she sits down to relax, I’m right there beside her or on her lap or sharing a kiss. I am housebroken, and crate trained, I only bark to alert and I don't mind a car ride. I know how to walk nicely on a leash and I will make a fine forever dog. My future looks bright, and I am so looking forward to joining my wonderful family anywhere on the East Coast! Inquire about me today and bring me home!
* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
