My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 **Meet Layla, the Collie Extraordinaire!** 🌼

Move over, Lassie—there’s a new superstar in town! Layla isn’t just your average pooch; she’s a laid-back 5-year-old bundle of furry joy, ready to bring endless sunshine into your life! 🌞 With her wagging tail and wiggly bum, Layla puts Lassie to shame with her greatness as a Collie. 🌟

Rescued with love and care, Layla is now on a mission to find her forever home where she can share her boundless love and loyalty. 🐾 This social butterfly is the ultimate nanny dog, adoring everyone she meets—from tiny humans to furry pals. Whether it’s playtime in the yard or snuggle time on the couch, Layla is always ready for a good time.

She’s the paw-fect match for a family who loves adventure and can keep up with her zest for life! 🎉 Layla dreams of a forever home with a laid-back parent who’s home all day, eager to join in her fun-filled escapades and shower her with cuddles and treats. 🏡🐾

Layla’s ideal home includes a fully fenced-in backyard where she can frolic and play to her heart’s content! 🌳 She’s a very large Collie who thrives on companionship and will cuddle with you to the extreme. Layla needs a dog friend to share in her adventures and gentle cuddles, and she’s incredibly sweet with kids—making her a great fit for families with children aged 3 and up. 💖

Layla is up to date on her shots and has had a dental, so she’s all set to bring her joyful energy to your home. Just one thing—Layla isn’t a fan of crates, so she’s looking for a home that understands her needs. If you’re searching for a furry sidekick to be the star of your household, Layla is wagging her tail in excitement, waiting to meet you! Let the adventures begin! 🐾✨

More about this rescue

Coastal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Virginia. We are a foster home based animal Shelter dedicated to finding loving new homes for unwanted, stray, and abandoned Shelties, Collies, Old English Sheepdogs, doodles and other small dogs. We serve Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, eastern West Virginia, and south central Pennsylvania, and are staffed solely by volunteers. We also strive to educate the public about the characteristics of the herding breed and the rewards of giving a home to a rescued dog.

The majority of the Coastal dogs are turned in to us by their previous owners.
