Fostered in Katy, Texas

9/24/24 - Once upon a time, the most adorable little puppy was born. Yep, you guessed it, me..... Cap! I was so adorable that someone purchased me and my life as a pet began. This consisted of puppy antics, eating, sleeping, pooping, etc. I seemed to have blocked out the reason, but after about a year, I ended up in a rescue group. But it wasn’t long before I was adopted…. Since I’m so cute. After a little while, I got pretty comfortable at my second home which lasted for about 3 years. We had to part ways eventually due to the fact that I am not a fan of children and they decided to have 2. Children make me nervous, scared and this leads to nipping on my part. So even though I love adults, I’m going to have to insist on a home with no kids. So, that bring us to today where I am being fostered with Yorkie Haven Rescue. I’m doing great here. I love my foster mom, but there is no doubting the fact that I am more attached to men. When foster dad is around, “foster mom who”?

I’m pretty much a flirt with all who let me be the center of their world. I’m always on the hunt for cuddles and snuggles and will be loyal – maybe too loyal as I can often be found in the bathroom with foster mom.

There are 2 other fur babies in the house. I love playing with the one with the fuzzy tail, reminds me of my tail. The other pup is a softy and prissy, I can be a little rough around the edges and use my mouth a lot, so softy pup here doesn’t like playing with me as much. And I also really like to butt the other pups out so I can be top dog in the lap. I just need one other dog in the home that is sturdy and loves to play, but doesn’t mind me getting 80% of the humans’ attention. If I happen to stumble upon a home with no other dogs, my owners will need to big into play time.

I am 100% a lap dog. If you wish to sit and watch those all-day Yellowstone marathons, I will sit in your lap and not move. Well, that’s a lie. I will raise up to give you kisses every now and then, but they aren’t sloppy, I promise. When I am around my humans, my tail is wagging all the time. I love being groomed, brushed or bathed. I know, I’m a freak! I basically am ok with anything that has YOU giving ME attention. If you haven’t picked up on it yet, I’m a pretty clingy dog. So, if having a shadow follow your every move and hearing the tap, tap, tap behind you everywhere you go isn’t your thing, you better not apply for me.

Another thing I cannot live without is TOYS! And if you have a strong throwing arm, I will not hate you if you want to throw toys for me all day. I’m pretty agile and can jump on the sofa or use the stairs/bench to get in the bed at night. Oh, did I forget to mention that in the bed is where I have to sleep? Foster Mom bought me a fuzzy blanket that I sleep on when she doesn’t want me on her. I’m not one of those finicky eating little yorkies. Nope, no problems in the eating department.

When no one is home, I have free roam of the house and I’m doing pretty good with my doggy diaper on. But when everyone is home, I use the doggy door like a pro. I like sitting on the back of the chair with the blinds open and staying vigil to protect the backyard. You might want to limit my time outside though because I like to chase the falling leaves, bark at the sun, howl at the moon, terrorize the chihuahua monsters on the other side of our fence, and act like a complete idiot at times. I’m just living my best life. I’m sensitive to noises and will bark at any noise I find suspicious, but as I am here longer and get used to the normal daily sounds, I am getting better. I’m just letting everyone know that there is a new kid on this block and they better watch themselves.

I get a little timid with the normal household noises, vacuum cleaner, putting a new garbage bag in, etc. and I’ll will dart out of the doggy door. I also get upset if you fuss at me and sometimes if you move abruptly in the bed at night. I might seem like a confident, boisterous boy, but I’m very sensitive at heart.

Well, I think I’ve let you in on all my traits, quirks, needs, dislikes and likes, and you can obviously tell from my picture that I’m handsome. So, you just have to ask yourself if you can handle owning the most dedicated best friend that anyone could ever find.

More about this rescue

Yorkie Haven Rescue Group was founded in 2006 and we are an approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our caring volunteers share their many talents to ensure that all yorkies we rescue from "throwaway land" are safe and can live their lives in a loving, healthy and safe environment - a haven where they will be forever loved.

We have a wonderful base of volunteers located throughout the United States, have no paid staff and are funded solely by kind donations from the public. Before any rescue is placed in a forever home, the pup is spayed/neutered, heartworm checked and made current on all vaccines.
