My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Jack Rabbit, the lively little orange tabby with a heart full of adventure! With his vibrant coat and adorable antics, Jack Rabbit is ready to hop into your life and fill it with joy. This playful kitten is always on the move, darting around and exploring every nook and cranny. His boundless energy means he's always up for a game of chase, whether it's with a feather toy or his favorite ball. But when playtime winds down, Jack Rabbit loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for some cozy cuddle sessions.

I can be adopted with a spay/neuter agreement! The refundable fee of $100 is INCLUDED in my $200 adoption fee! This fee covers my spay/neuter surgery (at the Monticello Vet Clinic), my vaccines: FVR & Rabies! & my FELV/FIV Test + preventatives! The $100 deposit is returned once proof of sterilization is furnished!

Think I might be the perfect fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!!

Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. We do not hold animals unless the adoption is out-of-state, and fees apply. The animal's welfare is our first and only priority, in doing so, they are moved from the shelter into their respective homes as quickly, & humanely as possible to remove the risk of undergoing extreme stress, immune system compromission, & behavioral concerns.

DISCLAIMER: Genetic Breed accuracy is NOT guaranteed; we assess by the following:

Interview with or paperwork from with the previous owner
Intake evaluation observations (behavior, physical appearance, and energy level)
Source documents from which to analyze characteristics
Consultation with other staff

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
