My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dexter is a 7 year old, 21 lb Dachshund mix. He has such handsome and unique markings, so we have no idea what breed he is mixed with. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle, easy-going little guy, then Dexter might just be what you've been looking for! How many other dogs would allow silly people to take their picture in a cowboy hat? Dexter is enjoying the good life in his foster home, but he is now ready to find a home of his own. Dexter will bond quickly with his new family and would appreciate a home where someone is home more than not. He has never met a stranger, and everyone who meets Dexter loves Dexter! He is happy to share his home with another small, laid-back dog or he would be just as happy as an only dog. Dexter enjoys soaking up the sun on the back patio, leisurely walks in the neighborhood, or just spending time with his family. If you would like to meet Dexter, please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Submit Application

You may complete an application via our website at http://www.humanetomorrow.org/adopt/.

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters must fill out an application for the animal they want to adopt, which is available on our website. Humane Tomorrow does not do adoptions outside of the DFW Metroplex.

Our adoption fees are...
Cats:
$150 for most kittens and cats

Dogs:
$250-$300 for most puppies and dogs

The adoption fee helps to cover the costs of basic preventative care including spay or neuter, vaccines (including Rabies and virals), heartworm tests and preventative for dogs, FeLV/FIV tests for cats, in addition to extra medical care the animal may need, such as heartworm treatment, dental, or surgery. Often our adoption fees do not even cover costs for basic medical care the animals need, and are certainly cheaper than if all these procedures were covered by the owner.

Humane Tomorrow reserves the right to deny any application for any reason.

More about this rescue

Humane Tomorrow is a non-profit 501(c), all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of unwanted and abused animals in Flower Mound and the surrounding areas. We are also committed to spay/neuter assistance and education to companion animal guardians.

We do not have a shelter, so all animals in our program are placed in temporary foster homes until permanent homes can be found.
