Are you looking for a mountain climbing, chow-time loving, energetic, and cuddly companion? Look no further than Bard (a.k.a. Bardamus, a.k.a Bardappotomus, a.k.a cuddle bug).
Bard is ~40lbs of love, cuddles, fun, and adventure! His greatest passions in life include: sleeping in late, food, eating, going for walks and hikes, food, climbing rocks, snuggling on the couch, and chasing squirrels. Oh and did we mention that Bard LOVES to eat? He isn't afraid to let you know that he wants a piece of whatever you're having, and definitely a little piece of what everyone else is having too.
Despite being 2 years old, Bard is a bit of an old soul. Relaxed, yet playful. Sleepy, but loves to go on an adventure. He is a people and dog person, and loves being around his pack much, much more than he likes to be alone.
Bard will thrive in a house that:
-Is very patient when it comes to teaching boundaries and setting the rules
-Does not have small children
-Does not have dogs that are smaller than him
-Doesn't mind a dog that will definitely want to cuddle in bed with you
From what we can tell Bard seems to have had a hard life. He came to us quite skinny, and is very protective of his food. He is also very sensitive, and needs a family with a lot of patience and positive reinforcement. Bard is an absolute joy, and he will make an excellent addition to your home!
Note: Bard will do best in a home with dogs between 40#-60# preferably female. However: He does resource guard food so ANY time food is out, he will need to be separated. This is due to the neglect in his past and may or may not be trainable.
