My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bailey, a gorgeous, 4 year old Longhaired brown tabby cat that is looking for a family to love! Bailey was transferred to the Humane Society from a different shelter; so unfortunately we do not know what her previous home life was like. Bailey can be a tad shy with new people, but once you start giving her some treats and letting her sniff you, she will be your new best friend! Bailey is a pretty talkative cat, she can sound like she's not happy but, in reality, she is having the best time getting pets! Bailey doesn't seem to be too fond of having roommates, so being the only animal in her home may be for the best. We think Bailey would do great with children, as long as they knew not to pull on her tail or ears. A perfect home for Bailey consists of lots of cat trees to jump up high, cozy places to hide away in when she needs a moment to herself, and of course- the most important thing- fluffy beds to nap on! This gorgeous girl is litter box trained, current on her vaccines, FIV/FELV tested negative, microchipped and spayed so she's ready to come home with you today! Come meet this sweet girl at the Waggin' Tails Adoption Center in Benbrook, open every day from 12-6 pm! Please give us a call at 817-249-3647 if you have any questions!

More about this shelter

Our History
The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) was founded in 1905 and is the oldest animal welfare organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While the organization’s name has evolved from the Fort Worth Humane Society in 1905, to the Tarrant County Humane Society in 1910, to the Humane Society of North Texas in 1982, its focus has always been on caring for animals in need. HSNT provides services such as pet adoptions, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations, returning lost pets to their owners, cruelty investigations and humane euthanasia. HSNT operates four pet adoption centers and a quarantine facility in Tarrant County, as well as an equine and livestock ranch located in Johnson County.
