Hi, I’m Atlas, a 2-year-old handsome GSD boy. I'm kind of a big guy but don't be alarmed, I'm super sweet and love my people. I also love playing with other dogs of all sizes and genders and do great in small playgroups. I'm easy on leash and I don’t carry on when I see other dogs out and about. I'm pretty drama free!. Sometimes, when I get excited or a little stressed, I can be a bit mouthy, but I promise it’s gentle, and I stop as soon as you ask. I really love playing ball—though sometimes I don’t want to give it up right away, so my "leave it" needs a bit of practice. You can take the ball out of my mouth easily, but sometimes I hold on tight because I’m having too much fun!
My one bad habit is wanting to be with my person and I will jump some fencing to reach them so I should be supervised outside until I’m settled into my new home. Another dog might help me feel more comfortable. I’m great in a crate in case you need to run an errand BUT I'm also great in the car and would love to run the errand with you. I’ll say hi to strangers, though I might act a little aloof at first (that's pretty common for us GSDs), but once I warm up, I’m all about the love.
I currently live with a cat and we are fine together. Sometimes I want to play with her and she will tell me to back off and I do. With proper introductions, I should be okay with a feline friend.
I was found running in and out of traffic (I know, not the smartest move!), but my stray days are over. I've already learned some cool tricks like sit, down, stay, come, and shake! My foster dad takes me everywhere and says I'm super well behaved. When he goes to the bank, he tells me to sit and wait and I do. I'm a really good boy.
I’m a big guy at 96 pounds, so I’d be perfect for someone who loves big dogs and wants to keep me active. I’d love to be your hiking or walking buddy, and I’m great at chilling out once I’ve burned off some energy. I’d be happiest in a home with people who will keep teaching me and letting me explore. I do get a little anxious when your'e not around but I do settle and I'm not destructive. If you are GSD savvy and looking for a handsome boy with presence, manners and lots of love to give, come meet me.
