Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Terrance is a total sweetie who found himself here when his owner hit a rough patch. He was very well loved in his first home, and now we'd like to find him a new home where he'll be equally adored.
This social butterfly loves people, and the more time he can spend with his family, the happier he'll be. He loves children of all ages, so we'll have him meet the whole family here at the shelter before he goes home. He's not a fan of other dogs, though, so he definitely needs to be your only canine kid. He hasn't had any experience with cats, so if you have a cat or several at home, your counselor can give you tips for introducing them.
Terrance's last home reports that he is potty trained, wears a seatbelt in the car and is very well-behaved. He also knows multiple commands already: Sit, Down, Come and Shake, as well as understanding "up"! You can bond with him by continuing his positive-reinforcement training, and maybe even teach him some tricks. Pro tip: One of his favorite treats is peanut butter, which you can put on the end of a wooden spoon, then let him have a lick or two as a reward.
According to his previous owner, Terrance is not only "the best snuggler, he has the special ability some dogs have to read your moods. When you're sad and need a cuddle, he knows it and is happy to snuggle up and make you feel better.
Are you ready to meet Terrance and - all paws crossed - make him part of your family? Email his in-shelter contact, Nicole, at nratliff@lollypop.org to coordinate a time! **Terrance is being fostered by a staff member, and is at the shelter Sunday-Thursday during adoption hours, but can clear his schedule to come meet you at another time if needed or desired.

More about this shelter
Mission:
Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, works together with our community better the lives of animals through justice, prevention, and life-saving care.
Vision: A just and compassionate world for all animals.
Lollypop Farm is not your typical animal welfare organization. We don’t classify ourselves as merely a shelter, simply taking in and rehoming pets. Rather, we are your partner. We’ll work with you to build a just and compassionate world for all animals–to save animals from abuse and suffering, to find a resource to keep your pet, to guide you in adopting a new pet, to make the tough decision to say goodbye to your family friend or to share information on how to help animals in your daily life.
