My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mistique is full of charm, energy, and just the right amount of sass to keep life interesting. She’s a lively pup who adores running, playing with toys, and soaking up attention from her favorite people. Her playful nature makes her a fun companion for someone who enjoys an active and interactive dog.

Mistique has lived peacefully with an older male dog who knows how to set boundaries, but she finds high-energy dog siblings a bit overwhelming. She’s happiest as the center of attention or sharing her home with a calm, easygoing canine friend. Mistique is crate-trained and mostly housebroken, though she’s still working on fine-tuning her routine.

While she can be sensitive about her ears and prefers gentle handling, Mistique’s affectionate and spirited personality shines through in everything she does. She’d thrive in a home with adults or dog-savvy teens who can give her plenty of playtime and a bit of structure to help her be her best self.

If you’re looking for a small dog with a big heart and plenty of character, Mistique just might be the one for you. Come meet her and see for yourself!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
