My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yahtzee is a 35 lbs mini Aussie. He is white with tan markings and blue eyes. He is deaf; however, he seems to hear certain pitches and reacts to those sounds (some sirens cause him to sit up and howl as most dogs do). Yahtzee has some vision loss. The owner says Y see figures and when she had another dog along with him, Yahtzee ran right next to him (touching) him as if the other dog was his guide.

Yahtzee is house trained. He goes in a crate…not always willingly. But, it is becoming his safe space.

When he first arrived at the foster’s home, Yahtzee barked when he could not see people. If the foster family got his attention and stay in his line of sight long enough, Yahtzee would lay down quietly as long as the family remained in the same room. After almost two weeks, he is secure enough to be in a room alone. Yahtzee has adjusted to a new environment quickly in spite of his deafness and vision loss.

When he was initially introduced to the male dog in the foster home, Yahtzee was very curious; he was even more curious about the female toy Aussie. Yahtzee wants to play with dogs and humans! Due to his vision loss, he initially needed to get very close to the other dogs and humans. He now navigates his surrounds quite well and LOVES to run in the backyard.

Yahtzee’s interaction with humans is sweet! He wants to show and receive affection! Yahtzee is precious and will make someone a faithful companion
