Maggie is a very sweet, loving, goofy German Shepherd who is on a journey to find a family that can reciprocate all her affection! Maggie was found on a frontage road early one morning and walked right up to her, now foster. She was a hungry girl looking for love and now has gained weight and shown her true personality:).
Maggie is about 60 pounds, about 4 years old, and would be a wonderful family dog. She has proven to do great with toddlers and new people. She has done well enough with new (large) dogs but it's unknown how she would do with small dogs or cats/other animals. Maggie would thrive as the only dog in the home, or would do best with a male dog.
Maggie is good on a leash and good in the car. She is also housebroken but could use a little work on her sit and stay. Maggie doesn't bark much. Sometimes she will whine when she is feeling lonely. She isn't really into toys but may quietly play with a toy for a few minutes, but it won't hold her interest. She bounces around when she chases a ball and is so focused on you sometimes, she will trip over things on the ground (toddler toys can be her downfall!), but will get right back up to see where you are. She is a low to average energy dog and really just wants people to hang out with.
All she wants is your love and attention and will paw at your hand for more love. She is happy to sit near you while you work, and cuddle while you watch tv, or lay in the middle of the play room while kids play around her. She will miss you while you are gone, but she is crate trained and can relax in her large kennel. She will want to sleep in her bed right next to yours and rarely will be in a room without you.

Hi, I am the founder of Waiting Under the Willow Foundation, also known as W.U.W.F. We work hard at trying to find homes for dogs that are homeless or scheduled to be euthanized at Harris County Animal Shelter. There are so many dog out there that are so loving and deserving of a good home. My hopes is that more people will open their hearts and homes to some of these sweet dogs❤️. Rescue dogs make the best pets!!!
