Dog's Name: Collette (COL0924ALAFD)
Estimated Breed: Poodle MIX
Approximate Age: 8 years
Approximate Weight: 6 lbs
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $300
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Collette is a sweet, endearing little lady with a gentle nature that makes her the perfect companion for those seeking a happy, moderate-energy pal. Although she is considered a senior, she is active and playful. She runs up and down stairs and loves to go on brisk walks, but is also happy to hang out with you quietly all day. She loves attention and affection but doesn't demand it all the time. Her shiny black eyes gleam with curiosity and mischief. She is partially deaf, but seems able to hear louder sounds such as the neighbor dog barking (and she will definitely bark back). Collette loves people and is good with other dogs and with cats (although she can't always resist giving a little chase sometimes if a cat insists on running in front of her-- it's just too much fun!). So what's not to love? Fill out an application today and give this tiny lady a chance to have the forever home of her dreams!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.org
