My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Winnie!

Winnie is a sweet and loving 8.5 year old girl with a heart full of affection. She might be a little shy when you first meet her, but give her some time, and she'll warm up into the purrrfect companion you've been looking for. Winnie is currently on a weight-loss journey, so she's seeking a home that will help her continue her progress. Her diet plan includes Hill's Metabolic food and a gentle exercise routine to keep her healthy and happy. Despite her current size, Winnie's gentle nature and loving spirit shine through, and she's eager to find a family that will support her in becoming the best version of herself. Winnie is an indoor only cat.

If you're ready to offer Winnie a warm, caring home and the support she needs to reach her goals, fill out an application below:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
