My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dior is a loveable 2 years and 6 months old German shepherd/husky mix. I fostered him during the storm and he was an angel!

He would do well with someone who works from home as he has separation anxiety but he can be worked with to ease this over time. He is super smart and trainable. He knows some commands and is eager to please.

I think he would make a FANTASTIC service dog as he is very intuitive and observant. If I were to even change the way I was breathing around him he would alert to me. He is loyal and loving.

He needs someone who is familiar with his breed(s) as well who can work with him. He is a master level escape arteest BUT he is not going to escape randomly- he only wants to escape IF you are not there with him- he is just trying to get to you. I have baby gates all around my house and even though he could easily have jumped them he never did- he understood they were a boundary. So as long as he knew I was there in the house he is respectful of boundaries.

He gets along with other dogs and was very recently neutered so we are working on getting him out of the humping phase.

He did fine around my cats- he wanted to play but I told him no and he listens. He is very responsive to tone and body language.

Trying to put a little more weight on him. I think he should be maybe 8 pounds heavier or so.

He did make himself breakfast one day when i didnt get up early enough-so his nose can reach the counter

I love him so much and i hope someone else will fall in love with him, too! He deserves so much in this life whoever adopts him will have a much richer life because of him

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is three-fold: submit an application, meet the pet, then arrange for us to do your in-home interview.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens: $60, Cats (1 year plus): $50, Puppies: $250, Adult Canines (1 to 6 years): $200, Seniors (7 years plus): $100 (unless otherwise specified). Adoption fees are not a tax-deductible donation as allowed by IRS regulations. Adoption fees help to offset the cost of the pet's care incurred by Coastal Pet Rescue, which are generally 2 to 3 times the adoption fee amount.
Some special circumstances may change the fee; see pet's listing for actual adoption fee.

All Coastal Pet Rescue pets are current on shots, microchipped* and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters are responsible for any shots that may be due after adoption (particularly for kittens and puppies that must have three rounds of shots to be protected).

Microchip:
CPR has implanted a microchip as part of the adoption process and the chip is included in the adoption fee. However, some chip companies require a registration fee varying from $9.99 to $19.99. The registration fees are the responsibility of the adopter and are NOT included in the CPR adoption fee. Adopters may add this cost to their adoption fee to have CPR register the chip on their behalf.

30 Days Pet Insurance:
As a Petfinder member, all adopters are entitled to a free 30 day insurance policy through PetFirst. Coastal Pet Rescue is not responsible for this policy. Adopters must call PetFirst’s toll-free number 855-710-7387 to activate the coverage. If adopters fail to call, the policy will not be activated.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Our pets all live in our homes, so adoption applications must be submitted for appointments to be made to see the pets. We also have them with us at our outdoor events, so view our "events" calendar on our website for those dates and locations.
