***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation***
Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.

We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.

Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal.

The call was put out for the need from several commercial breeders who needed some of their dogs gone, at a cost of course in the middle of the midwest. Of course they always want money for the dogs & of course once we know about them we are not leaving them & do what we have to do to help them. These innocent souls lives was instantly changing in that moment & only for the better.
While there a dog auction was taking place & we wanted to save who we could from that pure evil of being a breeding machine & living in a cage & brought out & forced to breed then shoved in a cage for their life. So we bid on Blueberry & we are so very glad we did as this boy originally was a scared mess & they clearly had not been kind to him. He stunk of urine when he arrived.
Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Blueberry how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home just as he is his loving foster home.

Blueberry & his friends were bought back to WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever home.

When this beautiful boy first arrived he was absolutely terrified of everything & didn’t trust humans at all. Who could blame him? But thankfully he had his loving foster friends to help him feel more comfortable & his foster mum
worked on helping him to trust humans & his new life & foster home. This boy is now very confident & obsessed with his foster mum. He will be found sometimes just staring at her. He is in love with his foster siblings & will play with anyone who will play with him but then will be off doing his own thing at times.
Blueberry is the best of both worlds, he will play but then be happy to snuggle up with you. He taught himself to go up & down the hardwood stairs in his foster home.
He now knows what toys are & loves playing with his toys. He has been learning to go potty on material potty pads & outside.
At first he did not have a clue about anything at all but has picked up things very quickly in his devoted foster home.
He absolutely loves his foster siblings & we have tested him with countless breeds of dogs.
He is extremely sweet but is very loving & a very cuddly little chap. He adores being picked up & held & carried around to see what is going on. At first he had no idea what it was to be held & loved but now he gets ready to be picked up. He will be uncertain at first in his new home but once he is comfortable that will change.

The reality is, the foster homes are his real first experience at being in a home, with a tv, bedding he can snuggle up in, a roof over his head that’s not outside in a cage.

Blueberry is a wonderful eater & we know that he is obsessed with food in his loving foster home with the good nutrition he is getting. He eats a clean diet meaning, raw fruits, vegetables, grains, raw proteins & supplements. He is obsessed with his treats & loves bully sticks & collagen sticks. His treats are also homemade for him.
He adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something he did not get to experience ever until he was rescued. He currently sleeps with his foster siblings & you will find them snuggled up together their foster mum said. He absolutely loves to sleep in the bed with you too & be apart of what you are doing.
He is such a very innocent sweetheart who just wants to be loved & to make up for his past. He loves everyone & is so very sweet in his foster home. He is accepting with being bathed & groomed & tolerates the hairdryer. Blueberry is wonderful with his foster mum bathing him & he was good with some of our other volunteers grooming him & bathing him.
He would still need to be taught to walk on a harness & leash as in his foster home he has a fully fenced backyard & gets to go out freely.

Blueberry rides beautifully in the car & loves a good car ride & car outing & adventures once he knows you. Blueberry as you can imagine spent the first part of his life in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Blueberry where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them.
Blueberry is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him.

Blueberry has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes in the rescue & in his foster home. He will be found snuggled up with his foster siblings. He absolutely must go to a forever home with a dog or dog’s present in the home for him to thrive in. He needs a very playful dog in the home for him to play with. Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory along with a fully fenced backyard with a freestanding dwelling.

Blueberry is roughly 24 lbs & he is 16 months old & a cavapoo. He has put on a lot of weight since being in the rescue in his loving foster home. What he is mixed with we are not sure. We treated him for coccidia & giradia as we do with all puppies when we first get them. Male, he is neutered by laser, he is microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, bordatella, rabies dewormed.

We have spent far more on Blueberry with bidding on him to stop him from being used as a breeding machine & living his life in a cage & only brought out to breed & go back into a cage & bringing him to WA with his travel costs, his transportation to WA. All of his medical care in WA & Omaha etc & bringing her to WA then his adoption fee comes close to covering.

Blueberry has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had him around small children & he adores them but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.

We were not there when Blueberry was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is.

As with all of our rescues & Blueberry’s friends & siblings he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Blueberry potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.

We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.

Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Blueberry & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Blueberry who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little Blueberry.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.

Blueberry has an adoption fee of $1585 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
