My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This adorable girl with the awesome ears is Lorna. She is a 2 year old Staffie who weighs about 55 lbs. Lorna can be a little bit shy when you first meet her but after a slow introduction she realizes that she is safe and can be very affectionate. Lorna loves to get pets and some love. This girl loves to go for a nice long walks and would be a fun hiking buddy. She is great with other dogs - big and small. Lorna can be cat tested upon request. We know there is the perfect person out there for Lorna. Apply to meet this sweet girl today!

Go meet their pets

Some adoptable pets can be found at our shelter in Rowland Heights, California. Our address is 19142 E Walnut Dr N. Others are fostered in home environments throughout California. Visiting pets are by appointment and only after an application has been filled out. We are willing to drive or meet between locations, even if it means a 2 1/2 hour drive. Our main goal is to find our animals the best possible forever home.

More about this rescue

Volunteers in Defense of Animals (VIDA) is a 501c3 and consists of a small group of volunteers and a network of foster homes. We help find homes for homeless dogs and cats, care and protect neglected and abused animals. We are working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.
