My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Clyde, a charming boy with a heart full of love and a playful spirit! Clyde is a sweet pup who adores going on walks and having fun playtime. His enthusiasm for life shines through, and he's always ready to explore the world around him.

Despite being heartworm positive, Clyde remains active and full of energy. He doesn't let anything hold him back from enjoying his favorite activities, whether it's chasing after toys or enjoying a leisurely stroll in the park. His zest for life is truly inspiring!

Clyde is also quite the conversationalist! He loves to chat and will happily engage in a lively dialogue with anyone who's willing to listen. His vocal nature adds an extra layer of charm to his personality, making every moment spent with him entertaining and delightful.

Clyde is looking for a loving home where he can receive the care and attention he deserves. With proper treatment for his heartworm, he'll continue to thrive and be the playful companion you've been searching for. He's ready to fill your life with joy, laughter, and plenty of love.

If you're ready to welcome this sweet boy into your heart and home, come meet Clyde today! He can't wait to start his next adventure with you!

Clyde's journey started at Anderson Animal Shelter, where he arrived from a partner shelter. Despite testing positive for Heartworm, he hasn't let that dampen his spirits.

The staff here believes that during Clyde's treatment and recovery, the best place for him is with a loving and forever family like yours. If you choose to adopt him!

The treatment process typically takes about three months, during which some simple at-home steps will keep him safe and comfortable. After that, a follow-up test six months post-treatment ensures he's back to his happy, healthy self.

It's important to remember that Heartworm can only be transmitted by mosquitoes, so with proper precautions, we can keep Clyde safe and sound.

With your love and care, the staff anticipates that Clyde will fully recover, and he can't wait to bring joy and laughter into your home.

When I arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Louisiana, I tested
positive for Heartworm.

The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like me to be while going
through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours.
If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering
questions and offering support.

The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves
some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is
a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins.

The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will
fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from
animal to animal by mosquitoes.

Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information,
email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to
help you.

I hope to meet you soon!

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
