"Want to hear my story? My name's Ginger, and I'm an island girl from St. Lucia, where dogs roam free. One day, a kind couple found me struggling with my eyes. They took me to an eye doctor who discovered some big problems-things like panophthalmitis and keratitis. It was a lot to handle, but I was up for the challenge!
I made my way to SPCA Cincinnati, where the veterinarian confirmed I was blind. But don't worry-I had surgery to remove my eyes, and now I'm feeling great! I moved in with a foster family, and I've been living it up with my foster siblings-dogs and cats! They are helping me to learn my manners. I've even figured out how to climb steps! I wear a special Halo-harness to help me navigate and love being outside, running and playing like any other dog. Since I can't see, I'm very tactile-I love to be in contact with others, whether it's snuggling up or following my furry friends. I'd do best in a home with other animals to help guide me, but I'll be just fine on my own, too! I need a family who understands my blindness, keeps my surroundings consistent, and helps me adjust to new spaces. Ready to meet me and be my forever family? Email lsloneker@spcacincinnati.org, and let's start this adventure together!"
