My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bowser, a spirited goofy, bundle of joy who loves life`s simple pleasures. His playful energy is infectious, turning any ordinary day into an adventure. His goofy antics bring smiles to everyone around him. He likes toys, pets, agility, running, walks, and car rides. With other dogs he is friendly, rambunctious and respectful. He might be too much for small dogs. Bowser has a soft spot for children, engaging in easygoing, friendly play that warms the heart. Because of his size and enthusiasm we do suggest children to be about 12 or older.

He`s also a cuddle bug, always ready to snuggle up and give affection but not overly needy. He`s a 70-pound lap dog and is house trained. Bowser`s bravery is unmatched, he`s not afraid to explore new places or meet new friends. Bowser is obedient and quick to learn new tricks, proving he`s not just a pretty face. He already knows sit, stay, and no.

Bowser came to the shelter as a stray and has been at the shelter and in a foster home. In his foster home he lived with 2 other dogs (60lb, senior and 30lb) and was respectful with both of them. He rarely barks and has not had any accidents in the house. He is working on his leash walking but is improving greatly. He does get excited when he sees other dogs or cats. We do not think he would be good in a home with cats. He had 3-4 walks a day and let outside regularly to play in the yard. He had free roam of the house day and night even when people were not home with no problems. He`s the happiest when he`s with people who love him. He needs to live inside not outside with his people. He`s affectionate, lovable, and waiting for his forever home. Adopt Bowser and let his joy and love fill your home with happiness. For questions, please email his foster mom, Wendy, wpmarkgraf@gmail.com. (tw, wm 11/23/2024)

More about this shelter

Citizens For Animal Protection, founded in 1972, is committed to sheltering, rescuing, and placing homeless animals in loving homes; advocating respect and compassion for all animal life; providing humane education to prevent animal cruelty; and raising awareness in the community of the needs of animals.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
