My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Nellie! She is an approximatley 11 month old Pitt mix whose had a hard road to travel. She was found by a shelter employee from Lancaster Animal Shelter in SC, with gunshot wounds to the neck and shoulder. It's estimated she survived two weeks on her own before being found. The great news is the Shelter got her the surgical care she needed and a medical foster helped her in recovery. She was welcomed with open arms by Chasin Tail Rescue, and has recovered completely! We love to see this story end with Nellie in a loving furever home! She's ready! She is completely vetted, spayed, UTD on vaccinations and loving her life with her fantastic foster in western NY State. She'd do best with an active family with a fenced yard, and continued training would be helpful for her to get in a routine in her new household. She is dog friendly and a real sweetheart!. Please help Nellie find a loving family....she's earned it!

Additional adoption info

Chasin Tails Adoption Process
1. Complete an Adoption Questionnaire at the link below.
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CTRN/Dog
If you are interested in applying for a specific animal on the website, please be sure to list their
names on your questionnaire. If you cannot select an animal please still submit your
questionnaire and write in the notes what type of animal you are looking for! Please note that
submitting an application is the first step in our process and does not guarantee adoption of a
particular dog or cat. Please email us at Chasintailrescuenc@gmail.com if you have any
questions!
2. You will be contacted via email by a Chasin Tails member, Adoption Coordinator or Screener
within 24-48 hours of submitting your questionnaire. They will then schedule an initial phone
screening to further discuss your needs, preferences and lifestyle as you look for a new family
member.
3. Your Chasin Tails representative will also conduct any required checks, including a vet check to
ensure your pets are up to date on medical needs, a landlord check if needed and you rent, and
will set up a home visit - during which a knowledgeable volunteer will schedule and meet with
all residents of your home to identify any risks or items to monitor when your new pet arrives
and ensure that everyone is ready to welcome them home!
4. Following steps 1-3, you will either be approved to adopt the dog or cat you are interested in or
Pre-Approved if you don’t see the particular type of animal you are interested in. You can view
the list of current animals online at Chasintailrescuenc.com . Or you can work with your
Adoption Coordinator to set up a meeting at a convenient time to meet and greet an animal we
have near you. If we don’t have the breed or size you are looking for, we can also work with our
shelter partners to find one.
