My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zyla's the Name, goofiness is my game! I'm a 21/2 year old border collie/Aussie mix with lots of energy and love. I am eager to train, and I absolutely love to learn! I was a rock star in basic obedience training. I'm all graduated, and am crate trained, potty trained, and have all mu vet work done. If you're looking for a super energetic buddy, maybe a dog to jog or participate in doggy sports with you, I'm your gal!

Come on and bust me out of jail by filling out an adoption application today at pawsinprisontx.org.

And if you can't adopt me, it's easy to help me! All you have to do is go to the purple SPONSOR tab in my Petfinder ad and make a tax deductible donation. You'll show me some love, and get a recept for your taxes right away!!

More about this rescue

We are a prison located in Lockhart TX. We rescue dogs from rural area shelters and take them into the prison for training on basic obedience. They are also house trained and crate trained. Training is done by the women inmate handlers. A professional trainer comes to the prison weekly to teach the inmates how to train the dogs. Dogs live at the prison for 2-3 months, in the cells with the inmates, while they are being trained.

All dogs are up to date on their shots, heartworm negative and on preventative, spayed/neutered, microchipped and trained for basic obedience.
