My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Basil Hayden, she’s a master of hiding in plain sight, she can be right behind you without making a sound to pounce for playtime.

She is her mom's (Crown Royal Whiskey) mini me, the only one of her litter to look so much like her mama. We'd love to see the adopted together but they can be adopted separately.

She is fostered with other cats in addition to her littermates and a small dog who doesn’t pay much attention to the kitties. Based on this we think Basil would be fine in a home with other friendly cats and chill dog with proper slow intros.

Basil Hayden: Likes to watch what is happening from the sidelines, will play with the other kittens when they pull her into it, or when the flirt pole is out. She is fine being held but will run when you go to grab her. She likes to experience things on her own terms.

Basil is a very sweet kitten, and is getting more confident each day.
If she can't be adopted with her mama or sister Johnnie we think she'd do best in a home with another friendly cat.

This little lady is one smooth customer. A master of hiding in plain sight, she can be right behind you without making a sound.

She loves a good cuddle pile but can show her spice when it’s time to wrestle! She and her sister Johnnie Walker tend to pal around and would love to be adopted together, but they have been becoming more independent as they grow.

Basil Hayden knows she can do anything, even if she turns out to be an only cat. Can Basil Hayden snuggle up at your house?

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This kitty you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties Rescue (3LP) wants to set you and your new family member up for success! In addition to a fully vetted furbaby you also receive other additional perks such as a code for a free bag of cat litter AND a code for 50% off a 2nd bag of litter from Catalyst Pet, coupons for a fun visit to Petco, and support through our Facebook Adopters group where you can connect with thousands of other adopters, 3LP volunteers, fosters and staff. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescues and will require continued efforts but are well on their way to being the best kitties that they can be! We ask that you give them time (can take weeks to months) to decompress in their new home, do slow introductions to other pets and let their true personalities have a chance to come through.

We celebrated our 6-year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 14,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
