- Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip and had a great time with his human companions: "Riley was such a sweet boy. He is full of slobbery kisses, and he loved tennis balls and running around. He took care of a pup cup in a few seconds. There were dogs in neighboring yards. He was curious but was easily redirected and not overly phased by them. He did great in the car and seemed to enjoy the ride. I truly can't say enough about how sweet he was."
- LOVES playing with tennis balls, and when he was spending time in a foster home he'd play fetch with his foster family every day
- Enjoys being close to his people and doesn't totally understand personal space yet, but he's working on it!
- Down for just about anything, whether it's cuddling or going on a hike - he just loves being with you!
- Likes being in the water
- Knows sit and is VERY food motivated; is a great listener and would be fun to train
- Appears to be housetrained; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine and schedule
- Enjoys going on walks and does best with a harness; made great progress on his leash manners while in his foster home
- Did well with a crate in his foster home
- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended)
- Can be very uncomfortable and unsure of how to act around other dogs; needs to be the only dog in his home right now
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
