This sweet sad little dumpster fire is Trixie, a 5 year old Maltese/shih tzu mix. She was surrendered mostly bald with angry itchy greasy skin and ears from chronic untreated allergies and yeast infections. She’s a lovely little dog, such a good patient for her treatments and medicated baths and will need a home that will continue to be diligent in continuing her medicated baths and care. Allergies require a lot of trial and error, vet visits, and immediate treatment before they get to the state where the dog is suffering like this, and she will need a special home willing to stay on top of things for life. She’s fine with or without other dogs, 13lbs fully grown and a nice little companion who would otherwise have people fighting to adopt her if not for her skin issues. We are getting things a little more under control medically before she’s able to be spayed and she will be ready for adoption very soon… please consider a donation toward her care to help her feel better. ❤️‍🩹

Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
