My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peppercorn, the loving and resilient boy who's ready to find his forever home! Despite suffering a broken leg that didn't heal quite right, Peppercorn doesn't let it hold him back. He walks a little differently, but his spirit is as vibrant as ever. With the right long-term pain management, he's set to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life.

Peppercorn absolutely thrives on the company of other cats and would be happiest joining an existing feline friend in his new home or going home with one of his shelter buddies. He shares a special bond with his brothers, Mister and Monty. If you're looking to adopt a pair, Peppercorn would make a fantastic duo with Monty or Mister, bringing twice the love and joy to your household!

In addition to his social nature, Peppercorn adores human attention. He loves nothing more than a good chin scratch and is always ready to curl up beside you for some quality cuddle time. His affectionate personality and playful spirit make him a delightful companion.

Whether he's enjoying time with his brother or soaking up love from his humans, Peppercorn is sure to bring warmth and joy to any home. If you're ready to open your heart to this sweet boy (and maybe his brothers) please submit a pre-adoption questionnaire here: https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
