Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Dewey is a sweet, almost 13-year-old, handsome hunk of a orange tabby cat. He was recently returned to HART because he did not get along with the other cat in his previous home. His former guardian was very sad to bring Dewey back, but despite several months of trying everything to make it work out, the situation did not improve. At the shelter, he more or less puts up with his feline roommates, preferring to keep to himself, but he can be a bit of a bully if pushed past his comfort zone. When it comes to people, though, Dewey is all in! This chatty guy loves spending quality time with humans, is super-snuggly, and loves being petted--and he has even been known to let you pick him up so he can give you enthusiastic head-butts. He enjoys interactive playtime with a peacock feather and a stringy toy with a mouse on the end. He also looooves Churu treat time!
Due to his history and strong personality, Dewey is looking for an experienced, cat-savvy home without any children or other animals, where he can spend his retirement years giving lots of love and happiness to his special people. Dewey has some medical issues, including chronic vomiting, early renal disease, and a heart murmur. His new adopter will need to have an established relationship with a veterinarian. We will also have his adopter meet with our Shy Angels Program Lead to discuss Dewey's particular needs and how best to acclimate him to his new home--although he is not shy, he has benefitted from living with our Shy Angels cats and working with our team of volunteers who know him well.
Dewey will be a wonderfully loving companion for his lucky adopter! Please submit an adoption application and come in to meet him in Room 5.
