For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Starla is a super sweet, almost 2 year old cat that we adopted as a young adult a little over a year ago. She’s gentle, laid-back, and has an easygoing nature. She is excellent with our dog and young child - really just such a sweet kitty. We love her!
the last year, been unable to get our older cat to accept her, and the fights continue to escalate (the older cat is the instigator). We’ve tried everything to get them to get along, including multiple separations and reintroductions, but at this point it’s not fair to Starla to live in such a stressful environment. As a result of this, she is not consistent with using the litter box and will occasionally urinate outside of it (a couple of times a week on the hardwood floor). The behavior is worse after a period with more scuffles between the cats. When the cats are separated, she rarely has an accident; however, this will probably be something you’ll need to work with as she gets comfortable in her new home.
