Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Junior is a loving boy that just wants a family that considers him to be a member of it.
He is approximately 8-12 months old and weighs 21.2 lbs – he is considered full grown and is not getting any bigger. He has a soft, wirey coat with minimal shedding. We believe he has some schnauzer, potentially border terrier or some sort of the mix in him
Junior was in an alley on the Texas Mexico border by a lady who feeds strays in the area – he was very lost on the streets and was quite emaciated. She asked around to neighbors and they told her that his owners moved and left him behind. We don’t know how long he was on the street for, but unfortunately this is very common for people to leave their animals behind, thinking of them as disposable.
We promised Junior we would not let that happen again.
At first, Junior can act a little shy. Who can blame him given the people he trusted just left him to fend for himself.
After just a short time, Junior starts to come out of his shell into the sweet, active, fun-loving boy he is. Once he knows he can trust you (which doesn’t take long), he LOVES you. He loves children, especially ones that will play with him.
Junior is great in a kennel – he walks right in by himself, and he feels very safe and comfortable in them. He has not had any accidents inside the home or crate – he is 100% house trained.
He gets along wonderfully with small and large dogs – He LOVES other dogs. The fosters dogs and Junior can play in the yard (see video) and go for a long time. Junior is very comfortable with other dogs, and they help him come out of his shell.
Junior has met outside kitties and is not interested in them. We think with proper introductions he can live in harmony with them inside.
He LOVES car rides and will load up. He does wonderful on the rides and loves to look out the window.
Junior is a snuggle bug when he’s not playing. He will lay at your feet or next to you on the couch, and just snuggle up and sleep.
An ideal home for Junior would be one that is mildly active – he does not need lots of stimulation, but a backyard to play with toys, walks around the neighborhood and/or another dog to play with would be perfect for him. Junior is such a doll, and he loves to be held. He will bring so much happiness and love into the perfect home.
