Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Oaklie, the 14-week-old floofball who’s convinced she was born to be the next great Olympian… in the dog playtime category, of course! Weighing in at a solid 27 pounds of puppy and fluff, this little Great Pyrenees girl could play with other dogs all day long if she had her way. Seriously, she’s one game of tag away from earning a medal. If you’re looking for a mellow movie-watching buddy, Oaklie might side-eye you until you get off your butt and play with her. ;)
This girl is a busybody, and while she’s still figuring out the finer points of leash walking (we haven’t quite gotten her to understand that the leash isn’t a toy), she’s got a lot of potential. In fact, Oaklie thinks life is too exciting to sit still – being a homebody isn’t really her jam. She’s always on the go, running laps with her doggy pals or chasing the world’s most important discovery: the squeaky toy. It’s safe to say she would benefit from another playful pup in the house to keep up with her playfulness. Oaklie may be reserved when meeting new people, but once she knows you’re on her team, you’ve got a loyal friend for life. She hasn’t met any cats yet, but she’s up for the challenge if you’ve got one willing to give her a shot. And kids? Sure, just as long as they’re ready for an energetic buddy who might think they’re honorary puppies.
When it comes to car rides, let’s just say Oaklie hasn’t quite decided if she’s auditioning for Fast & Furious or Nervous & Panting. The car isn’t her happy place yet, but with a little encouragement, she might just come around. Until then, she’s content staying close to home and keeping a lookout for any suspicious squirrel activity (Guardian Mode Level 2, naturally). At this level, she’s not barking her head off at every little noise. No, no! That would be too easy. Instead, she’s the dignified overseer, waiting for her canine colleagues to sound the alarm. Once the other dogs kick off the barking brigade, she chimes in with her own dignified woof, as if to say, “Ah, yes, I too have heard the faintest rustle in the bushes. Fear not, dear humans, for we are on the case!” She’s crate trained – well, almost. Oaklie’s been known to sleep peacefully through the night in her crate without a peep, which is a win in the world of puppies! She’s still figuring out that going into the crate on her own doesn’t mean the fun stops, but we’re getting there.
As for potty training? She’s a star as long as you have the door open for her. Oaklie loves the great outdoors and takes every chance she gets to bask in nature (aka, wrestle with invisible forces that may or may not be leaves). She doesn’t chew on your favorite shoes, doesn’t dig holes, and certainly hasn’t figured out fence jumping—so no need to worry about her staging a backyard breakout anytime soon.
All in all, Oaklie is a sweet, active girl who is looking for a home with plenty of toys, some room to play, and a family who’s ready for all the puppy antics she has to offer. Ready to meet your new partner in playtime? Oaklie’s waiting!
