My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Delco, a sweet but shy boy who's still finding his confidence. Delco is a bit fearful but still curious when approaching new friends. He likes to explore new surroundings slowly.

Delco is a little unsure of loud noises and fast movements but seeks comfort from his human, leaning in for affection when he's feeling nervous. Delco is still learning to trust and would thrive in a calm, patient home that can help him build his confidence.

This gentle boy just needs some time, love, and understanding to blossom into the wonderful companion he's meant to be!

Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Delco at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.

Behavior notes:
2/26/24 volunteer notes: Delco was tail tucked in his kennel but he was curious and approached me with soft eyes and pinned ears. He was excited to come out and approached me at the door. He seems to be a dog that just needs to gain some confidence He walks a little low to the ground and is figuring out his new surroundings. He peed and pooped outside so potentially trying to be house trained. He did some exit searching and was trying to find places to hide underneath outside, but did come back and approach me multiple times for attention. He did allow pets and no concerns with handling. I think he could be foster eligible with an experienced foster who can allow Delco proper decompression. Most importantly - Delco has really mastered the "inquisitive stare at you face!

9/26/24 staff notes: Delco is such a sweet and timid boy. he did great for the photoshoot and while sacred, he solicited attention from all the photo people! He also really warms up around other dogs and it helps his confidence so much!

9/25 staff notes: We took Delco out for some activity time this morning. Delco was easy to leash, but in the room he remained very nervous and shutdown still. He stayed near his handler and was trembling with a lowered body. He took cheese gently when offered by the handler and it helped him to warm up. He remained very timid in the room, but was very tolerant to all handling.
