This helps Denkai Animal Sanctuary with pet care costs.
Shaun is a big ol' boy, with a big ol' heart! He cherishes his time playing with other dogs, and running in the yard. Children bring out his softer, gentler side..and his wet, sloppy kisses. Shaun likes to stick right by your side, watching, protecting. There is so much personality in this guy, lurking beneath the surface, just waiting for the right person to come along so he can let loose.
Shaun has been with us for quite a while now. After his owner passed, he and multiple other pets were left to fend for themselves with only occasional care from some neighbors until we were contacted to help. We brought Shaun and his sister into our care.
Once the bloat from the tapeworms they were infested with subsided, we could see just how thin these pups were. Based on their behavior, we could only assume they were allowed to run free and had never been inside a house. Any chance they got, they would break out of their kennels, devouring anything in their path - food or otherwise.
Slowly, they learned they were continually getting food on a regular basis so they weren't forced to eat whatever they could find laying around. They also realized being inside is actually quite nice. Shaun was moved to a home, but unfortunately, this turned out to not be his forever and he was returned a few days ago.
If you can offer Shaun a stable environment with patience, positive reinforcement, and love, please reach out to us or fill out the appropriate application below.
