Diego was surrendered to Arizona Humane Society as part of an animal hoarding incident. Due to the conditions he grew up in, he had inflammation in one of his eyes, severe dental disease and elevated liver values. This poor boy had known nothing but suffering. Because of the poor physical condition he was in, Diego was promptly placed on the euthanasia list. We stepped in to give this senior chihuahua a much-deserved second chance!

As always, it never ceases to amaze us how much a little love and care goes and gives these precious souls a chance to thrive. After being evaluated and treated, Diego is doing spectacular! He received a full dental and neuter and will just need to remain on a vitamin supplement for his liver health.

Diego is described as easygoing and loving by his foster family, who find him to be a tiny bundle of absolute cuteness! He loves to take naps, collect toys in his bed and receive belly rubs (on the hour, if you please!).

This happy chihuahua gets along well with other dogs similar to his size. He does well left alone, plays with people and sleeps through the night. Diego even gets along with cats!
