My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Houdini is really, a gentle giant! He is just shy of 100 lbs but is literally the sweetest boy! He is obsessed with cuddles and loves to be brushed out! At almost 2 years old he likes to just be included in whatever is going on! Houdini is a big fluffy boy with a shy ,but goofy personality. He doesn't realize that he's not a lap dog. He has been around other dogs, but prefers to be the only pet in the home. Houdini would do best with older kids, like teenagers who can understand his size. If it's a couch potato you're looking for, he's that. If you're looking for a dog to play with, he's that. He's a great listener and could even make a great therapist. However, he prefers his pay in treats.  If you're wanting to make this good boy a permanent member of your family, please, fill out an application at ITVrescue.org.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
