My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Spencer (& his brother Wilson);

Spencer and Wilson came to the BC SPCA Kelowna because the Landlord would no longer allow dogs in the complex. Spencer and Wilson are bonded and need to find a home together. They are super friendly and just want to be with their people all the time. They are shy when first meeting new people. They have lived with cats, but cats typically don't like them as they like to play with the cats.

If you believe Spencer and Wilson are the dogs you have been waiting for, please complete an online Dog Pre-Adoption Questionnaire:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
